Abbey College is a working school set in rural Cambridgeshire, approximately 14 miles from the city of Peterborough, 9 miles from Huntingdon and 35 miles from Cambridge. The landscaped grounds are home to an eclectic mix of buildings which come together to form an attractive venue for many different types of event. The jewel in the Abbey College crown is the magnificent Abbey manor house, parts of which date back to the 12th century.
The College stages many events throughout the year including formal dinners, sports events, social gatherings, weddings, dances and is a favourite venue for dances and parties. There are a number of different sized rooms available for hire, from small meeting type rooms to halls which will accommodate up to 150 guests for formal dinner and up to 350 guests in theatre style. Additionally, the attractive grounds are used to stage community events, open air concerts and sports events.
The College is also able to provide equipment to make any event special. The two large halls are fitted with full sized stages, lighting rigs and sound systems and we can arrange for silk linings to be fitted to create a more formal setting to events. Outside, the lawns which are set among a wide variety of specimen trees will accommodate marquees with a capacity of more than 500 guests.
The College has two fully equipped kitchens from which a wide range of catering can be provided in many different formats ranging from plated sandwiches to full silver service. Abbey College catering staff pride themselves in the quality of the dishes they create. Our range of menus is available on request but we are also able to offer a tailored service to meet the individual needs of our clients. We recognise that some events require a bar, we have excellent associations with a number of local hostelries which can provide this service and we are happy to make necessary arrangements on behalf of our clients.
