There are costs associated with your child going to school. In some circumstances you may be entitled to help.
If you are in receipt of certain benefits your child may be entitled to free school meals, saving you up to £400 a year on paying for school meals.
If your child gets transport to a denominational school, you may be able to get assistance towards paying this. To find out more see the Home to School Transport policy on the transport to primary school page.
Although families can receive help with uniform costs for children at secondary school, there is no scheme for primary school. However, some primary schools may keep stocks of second hand uniforms. Talk to your child’s school direct to find out what support, if any, they offer.
